PARISH COUNCILS
Parish Council
Presided by the pastor, a consultative group of lay ministry leaders
and an elected parish member that meet monthly to foster pastoral
activities and issues concerning the faith life of the parish.
Finance Council
Presided by the pastor, and appointed advisory group of lay parish
members who meet quarterly to assist the pastor in his duties in
administering the temporal goods of the parish.
PRAYER
Day of Prayer & Eucharistic Adoration
Wednesday morning and afternoons, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed
upon the altar for quiet prayer and worship.
Prayer Chain
Prays for special needs by receiving prayer petitions.
Marian Movement
Meets monthly to discuss and share Marian Devotions.
Sunday/Weekday Rosary
A parishioner leads this community rosary before all weekend masses
and after all weekday masses.
Living Rosary
Groups of 20 families or individuals say one decade (mystery) of the
Rosary.
Bible Discussion & Prayer
A small group meets weekly to discuss and pray through the Sacred
Scriptures.
LITURGY
Ushers
Assist in seating, receiving collection, handing out bulletins and
meeting special needs during Sunday Masses.
Hospitality
Warmly welcome people at the main Church entrance as they come to
Sunday Mass.
Gift Bearers
Bring up the bread, wine and collection during Presentation of Gifts
at Sunday Mass.
Lectors
Proclaim the Word of God during Liturgy of the Word at Sunday Mass.
Eucharistic Ministers
Assist priest in distribution of Eucharist during Holy Communion at
Sunday Mass.
Altar Servers
Assist priest at altar with articles and liturgical functions.
Liturgical Music
Led by choir director to enhance music during Sunday Mass. It
consists of an organist, other musical instruments and cantor.
Sacristan
Helps priest in preparation before Mass and after Mass
Environment
Prepare interior and exterior of Church building for liturgical
seasons
Catholic Family Services
Find hope, comfort, direction, help, through Christ centered
counseling.
Divorced, Widowed, Separated Support Group, also.
SOCIAL CONCERNS
Sunday Coffee & Rolls
Free coffee and rolls served in the gym after the 9:00 am Sunday
Mass.
Welcoming Ministry
Welcomes newcomers to the parish by providing a parish information
packet.
Altar Society
Organization of parish women, meeting bi-monthly, to provide food
and hospitality for parish events, serve funeral luncheons, clean
the church building interior, bring gift baskets to parish newborns
and make baptismal garments.
Social Concerns Ministry
Meet monthly to raise awareness and seek ways to respond to current
social issues.
Respect Life Ministry
Meet monthly to raise awareness and seek ways to respond to current
life issues.
Building and Grounds Ministry
Meet quarterly to evaluate and maintain parish facilities.
Spiritual Life Ministry
Meet monthly to develop parish activities that foster spiritual
growth.
Vocational Ministry
Meet monthly to raise awareness and seek ways to promote the
vocations of the Church.
Stewardship Ministry
Meet monthly to foster implementation of the National Conference of
Catholic Bishop's Pastoral Letter on Stewardship in the Parish.
Marriage Sponsor Couples
Assist the priest in preparing couples for the Sacrament of Marriage
by private meetings.
Cemetery Ministry
Joint-parish bi-annual meeting to manage the temporal needs of
the Catholic cemetery.
Meals on Wheels
Deliver meals on wheels to shut ins on a yearly rotation schedule.
EDUCATION
Catholic School Board
Monthly joint-parish board of Pastors, Principal and Lay member that
over-see the school.
Religious Education Board
Bi-monthly board of Pastors, Director of Religious Education and Lay
members tht oversee the religious education program.
Religious Education Program
Weekly academic year of classes for Elementary and Middle School.
Involves D.R.E., teachers, aids, hall monitors, substitutes and
support staff.
Confirmation Program

Catholic Day School
All day academic year of classes for Elementary, Preschool through
6th grade involves school board, administration, teachers, support
staff, activity helpers and P.T.O.
Parent Teacher Organization
Monthly meetings of parents whose children attend parochial day
school. Involves planning educational, social and fund-raising
events for the school.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
Weekly academic year of evening classes for adults involves Pastoral
Minister, sponsors, and table leaders. While primarily designed for
people discerning conversion to Catholicism, Catholics are welcome
to enrich their catechetical background.
Sunday Children's Church
Children ages 3 through 6 receive the Word of God for 20 minutes
during the homily at the 11:00 a.m. Mass.
Summer Vacation Bible School
Conducted yearly for grade school children by D.R.E. and volunteer
parents and youth.
Parish Resource Library
Avaibale at main church entrance, provides religious educational
material for all ages.
Baptismal Classes
Monthly class led by Pastoral Minister for parents preparing for the
Sacrament of Baptism for their child/children.
Marriage Preparation Classes
Series of three monthly classes led by Pastor, Pastoral Minister,
Senior and Junior Married Couple to assist couples preparing for the
Sacrament of Marriage
YOUTH
B.A.S.I.C.
Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Fiath formation for grades 9 through
12 including Confirmation preparation
B.A.S.I.C. Leader Core Group
Adult advisory group that assist with B.A.S.I.C. and youth
activities.
COMMUNICATION
Bulletin
Produces weekly bulletin by secretary and volunteer office support
staff. Articles need to be in by Wednesday morning.
Parish Mailings
Seasonal letters to the homes to inform parishioners.
Office Support
Assist bulletin production, copying, stapling, stuffing, mailing,
phone calls, and errands.
Bulletin Board
Church entrance posting of upcoming events for the parish and
diocese.
